§1 Who We Are

evbreakeven.com ("the Site," "we," "us," "our") is operated by Indraprastha Publications, a publishing entity based in India with its registered office at Choppadandi, Karimnagar, Telangana 505415, India, and governing-law jurisdiction in Hyderabad, Telangana. The full operator address appears in §9 of this policy.

§2 Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to data we collect through evbreakeven.com. It does not apply to third-party sites we link to. When you click an external link (for example, to IRS.gov, EIA, or fueleconomy.gov), the privacy practices of that site govern.

§3 Data We Collect

§3.1 Automatically

Our web server logs typical request data: IP address, user agent string, referring URL, requested URL, and timestamp. These logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes. Where Cloudflare is in front of our origin, equivalent log data is held by Cloudflare under their data-processing terms.

If Google Analytics 4 is enabled (currently disabled at launch — see §6), pseudonymous interaction events are collected for traffic analytics. IP addresses are anonymized at collection. Analytics cookies fire only after consent in jurisdictions requiring it.

§3.2 Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies (none required at present), preference cookies (none), and analytics/advertising cookies (set by Google AdSense and Google Analytics when enabled). Full list and purposes appear in our Cookie Policy.

§3.3 If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the content of your message, and any attachments. We use this only to respond to you and retain it as long as needed to address the matter or as required by law.

§4 How We Use Personal Data

To operate the Site and serve calculator and content pages.
To monetize via contextual / personalized advertising through Google AdSense (subject to your consent and opt-out preferences in your jurisdiction).
To analyze traffic patterns and improve content (Google Analytics 4, when enabled).
To prevent abuse and maintain security.
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data in the colloquial sense. Some US state laws (notably California) define "sale" and "share" broadly enough to include certain ad-targeting data flows; see §5.2.

§5 Your Rights

§5.1 General rights

Regardless of jurisdiction, you may email us at grievance@evbreakeven.com to ask us what data we hold about you, request deletion, correct inaccurate data, or withdraw consent for processing where consent is the lawful basis. We respond within 30 days.

§5.2 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) gives you specific rights:

Right to know: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, the sources, the purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
Right to delete: request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to legally permitted exceptions.
Right to correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing: direct us not to "sell" or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer to exercise this right. We honor the Global Privacy Control (Sec-GPC: 1) signal as a valid opt-out request.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: we do not collect sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics; this right does not change anything operational, but you may request confirmation in writing.
Right to non-retaliation: we will not deny you services, charge a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised your privacy rights.
Authorized agent submissions: you may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will require written authorization and verification of the agent's identity.
Annual data report: on written request, we will provide an annual summary of how we process California residents' data.

§5.3 Other US state residents

Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island, and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights substantially similar to those above: opt out of targeted advertising and certain data sales; access, correct, and delete personal information; data portability where applicable. Requests for any US state-law right may be submitted to grievance@evbreakeven.com; please identify your state of residence so we apply the correct procedure. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal across all US privacy-law states that recognize universal opt-out mechanisms.

§5.4 EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR. Our lawful bases are Article 6(1)(f) legitimate interests for analytics and security, and Article 6(1)(a) consent for advertising and analytics where required by ePrivacy or local law. We rely on Article 3(2)(b) ("monitoring of behavior") as the basis for AdSense behavioral tracking when enabled.

Your rights: access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, and withdrawal of consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority. International transfers of data to our India-based operator and to Google's worldwide infrastructure rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and Google's certified transfer mechanisms.

§5.5 India residents (DPDPA)

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Indian residents have rights to information, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and nomination. Submit requests to our Grievance Officer at grievance@evbreakeven.com. We respond within 30 days.

§6 Third-Party Services

Google AdSense — for ad serving. Currently disabled until publisher account approval. Once enabled, controls available at adssettings.google.com and via our consent mechanisms.
Google Analytics 4 — currently disabled. When enabled, IP anonymization is on; consent mode v2 governs cookie firing.
Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, DDoS protection. Cloudflare's privacy practices apply to data they process: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Hostinger — origin hosting provider. Hostinger's data-processing terms govern hosting-side data.

§7 International Data Transfers

The Site is operated from India. Hosting infrastructure and CDN nodes are global. Personal data may be processed in India, the United States, the European Union, or other countries. Where transferred from the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

§8 Data Retention

Server logs: up to 90 days. Analytics data (when enabled): up to 14 months in standard GA4 retention. Email correspondence: up to 24 months unless an ongoing matter requires longer retention.

§9 Operator Information & Governing Law

§9.1 Operating entity: Indraprastha Publications.

§9.2 Registered office: Choppadandi, Karimnagar, Telangana 505415, India.

§9.3 DPDPA Grievance Officer: contactable at grievance@evbreakeven.com. Response commitment: 30 days from acknowledgment.

§9.4 Indian governing law: for operator-side legal compliance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

§9.5 Indian court jurisdiction: any dispute arising from this Privacy Policy or operator-side data processing is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India, except where otherwise required by mandatory consumer-protection law in the user's jurisdiction.

§10 Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16 (EEA/UK) or under 18 (other jurisdictions, default). Under DPDPA, we obtain verifiable parental consent before processing any data of a child where required. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact grievance@evbreakeven.com and we will delete it promptly.

§11 Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. When your browser sends Sec-GPC: 1 with a request, we treat that as a valid opt-out under CCPA/CPRA and equivalent US state privacy laws — no separate cookie banner click is required. The signal is recorded on every request via our server stack.

§12 Security

We use HTTPS site-wide with HSTS, current TLS versions, and standard hardening (X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy, Content-Security-Policy). The Site does not collect passwords or financial data. No system is perfectly secure; report issues to security@evbreakeven.com or via /.well-known/security.txt.

§13 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes affecting how we use existing data, we will provide reasonable notice — for example, a banner on the Site for 30 days.
