Affiliate Disclosure
§1 Current Status
evbreakeven.com does not currently use affiliate links. No content on this Site contains a tracked affiliate URL, no merchant ID is in use, and no commission is earned from any vehicle purchase, charging-equipment purchase, or third-party signup originating from this Site.
This page exists so the disclosure is in place if and when we add affiliate links — and so the answer to "are you secretly making money on referrals?" is plainly "no."
§2 If We Add Affiliate Links Later
We may, in the future, add affiliate links to certain commercial products that are directly relevant to calculator users — most likely residential Level 2 charging equipment. If and when we do:
- Each affiliate-linked page will carry a clearly visible disclosure at the top of the page (above the fold), stating that the page contains affiliate links and that we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases.
- The disclosure will identify which networks we participate in (e.g., ShareASale, Amazon Associates, manufacturer programs) at the time of publication.
- Affiliate links will not influence which products are featured in calculators, methodology pages, or rankings.
- We will not insert affiliate links into model-comparison or state-guide editorial unless the linked product is genuinely the best fit for the use case discussed.
- This page will be updated to list the active programs.
§3 What Affiliate Links Are
An affiliate link is a URL with a tracking parameter that pays the publisher a small commission if a reader clicks through and makes a qualifying purchase. The price you pay is unchanged — the merchant funds the commission from its existing margin. Affiliate revenue does not personalize calculator outputs, alter incentive figures, or change which programs we cover.
§4 Editorial Independence
Per our Editorial Policy, we do not sell vehicles, do not take dealer commissions, and do not accept paid placements. Affiliate revenue, when it eventually exists, will be a small revenue stream alongside display advertising — not a structural feature of how content is produced.
§5 Advertising vs. Affiliate
The Site is monetized primarily by Google AdSense display advertising. AdSense is not the same as affiliate marketing — AdSense ads are sold and served by Google, and we have no relationship with the advertisers. See our Cookie Policy for advertising-related cookie information and our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.
§6 FTC Disclosure Compliance
This page constitutes our advance notice that any affiliate relationships established in the future will be disclosed in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255).
