§1 Your Right to Opt Out
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA"), and under equivalent state privacy laws in Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Virginia (VCDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island, and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, you have the right to direct evbreakeven.com not to "sell" or "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
§2 What "Sell" and "Share" Mean Here
We do not sell personal information in the colloquial sense — we do not exchange names, emails, or contact lists for money. However, the CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws define "sale" and "share" broadly enough that some advertising-related data flows through Google AdSense (when enabled) may technically qualify as a "sale" or "share." The opt-out below addresses those flows.
§3 Three Ways to Exercise Your Right
§3.1 Global Privacy Control (no click required)
If your browser sends the Sec-GPC: 1 signal — supported by Brave, DuckDuckGo, Firefox (extension), Mozilla extensions, and others — we treat that as a valid universal opt-out across CCPA/CPRA and equivalent US state privacy laws. No further action is needed. We confirm GPC honored in our Privacy Policy §11.
§3.2 Cookie banner (where applicable)
When AdSense is active, residents of jurisdictions requiring opt-out can use the cookie banner to limit personalized advertising data sharing. Your choice is stored and respected on subsequent visits.
§3.3 Email request
Submit a written request to grievance@evbreakeven.com with the subject line:
"Do Not Sell or Share — [your state]"
Include enough information for us to verify your residency and to identify the personal information at issue. We respond within 30 days. We will not require account creation, payment, or unnecessary verification steps.
§4 What We Do When You Opt Out
- We engage Google's Restricted Data Processing for your traffic, which limits how AdSense uses identifiers and behavioral signals.
- We disable cross-context behavioral advertising for your session and (where browser signals persist) future sessions.
- We do not retaliate against you for exercising this right — you receive the same Site experience, the same calculator outputs, and the same content.
§5 Authorized Agent Submissions
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We require:
- Written authorization from you to the agent.
- Verification of the agent's identity.
- Verification of your identity for the underlying request.
§6 Sensitive Personal Information
We do not collect "sensitive personal information" (precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, genetic data, biometric identifiers, contents of mail/email/text, or sex life / sexual orientation) for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. The right to limit use of sensitive personal information therefore does not change anything operationally; you may request written confirmation by contacting grievance@evbreakeven.com.

§8 Frequently Asked
Will the Site still work if I opt out? Yes. All calculators, state guides, and editorial content function identically. Ads may still appear but will not use cross-context behavioral data.
Do I need to opt out separately on each visit? No, if you use Global Privacy Control. The browser signal is sent on every request automatically.
Does this opt me out of analytics? Analytics opt-out is governed separately under EEA/UK/Swiss consent and through the cookie banner. To opt out of all analytics, decline analytics cookies in the banner or use a tracker-blocking browser extension.
